A Hammer film set in Manchester, England brings a New York feel to a hunt for an escaped convict who stops at nothing to allude capture. Stanley Baker shines as a detective with conviction, savvy and principles in the tough business of police work: intuitive, strategic, strong, fair. You gotta love this guy! Another solid performance by director Val Guest (Jigsaw) who seems to have a sixth sense for police dramas.
