About

the Cover

The inspiration for this cover shot came from observing aerial photography of the current build-up of Russian troops near the border of Ukraine which is prominent in news headlines across America and around the world. Failing our ability to procure rights to such photography, this week's cover photo features an excellent "abstract" drone shot of the I95-I695 freeway interchange in Baltimore County, Maryland. Perhaps ironically, development of America's Interstate Highway System is attributed to President Dwight Eisenhower, the General who commanded the allied forces in the European Theatre during World War II and who oversaw the defeat of Germany. Having seen the German autobahn, "Ike" was determined to significantly upgrade America's roadways.
