I Walked with a Zombie
1943
SUPERNATURAL
1hr 9mn

It hits me that the last Val Lewton movies I’ve reviewed stand out in terms of production value/art. I Walked with a Zombie is well-directed with lighting/photography of note. Despite a "B" sounding exploitation title, Zombie combines an interesting plot with interesting supporting characters. Case in point, the guitar player, and the house maid. Better rethink this one if you're imagining freaked out barricaded people being attacked by mindless souls. These Zombies are a cut above.
