A
magazine reporter on fishing vacation in the
out-of-the-way little lake town of Winogga, Wisconsin slips
on a rock and after a couple of stitches from the
local doctor hooks a bigger story than the size of any
trout. Local Winoggaites are only too happy to
direct him away from town: "trout? Too bad
mister, there was a virus hit that lake. There
aren't any fish in it." It doesn't take many such
peculiarities for the newsman to want to stay for
more and get in trouble. Raymond Burr casts a big
shadow, but for my money the old ex Nazi takes
the prize.
